Helpful for a novice, but...

I bought this dictionary just the other day, because I am a somewhat visual learner (and there are nice pictures and charts of certain interesting or key words/phrases). In some ways, this book goes WAY beyond a typical translation dictionary. It has a list of personal pronouns, examples on how to conjugate verbs, and irregular verbs are conjugated for you under their listing, etc., etc. HOWEVER, don't expect this book to have every single word you're looking for. In fact, as the other reviewer said, there are a lot of words you probably won't find (I couldn't find "goose" just a second ago). BUT, what you do find (under EVERY word they do have) is an example of that word used in a sentence! That's pretty handy, because you can learn many words at once (under Pato (duck), I learned the word for duck, migrate, during, south, and winter, all because of the sentence they used to illustrate the use of the word Pato). HOWEVER, I have spotted a number of typo's in the back of the book, especially in the "appendices." They don't miss translate words (that I've noticed) or anything truly horrible, but they mess up headings, and sometimes simple things, like confusing F for C in the temperature conversion. It seems like this book needs a good revision to take it to the next level. If you're looking for a quick and pretty easy way to learn some new Spanish vocabulary, I would recommend you get this book, but only if you're truly a beginner.

A SPANISH DICTIONARY I LIKE ! THIS HAS PRONUNCIATION AND IRREGULAR VERB CONJUGATIONS . PICTURES OF EVERYDAY ITEMS AND ANIMALS ARE IN THE CENTER. EACH WORD IS USED IN A SENTENCE FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING. I RECOMENDED THIS TO MY STUDENTS ALONG WITH 501 SPANISH VERBS. HASTA LUEGO !
