This is the best book I've read all year

I read the first book in this series, "Still There, Clare" a while ago and I totally loved it but "Not Fair, Clare" is even better. I love the characters and it's SO funny. I'm a lot like Clare so I could really relate to her. I can't wait to read the next one.

Hilarious, Smart and Cool

Part Two of the Clare series picks up where the first book (Still There, Clare) left off. Armed with a new best friend, a seeing-other-people understanding with her imaginary friend (who's reluctantly agreed to a hiatus) and a new interest in acting in plays, Clare is sharper, funnier and more cynical than ever. There isn't a character in literature in recent memory who can toss out winning one-liners (she dubs the pile of school supplies "the official 'fun's over' smell") with such frequency. This one's got it all: a first kiss, an emergent rival, losing a best friend to the dark side, an overadrenalized kid neighbor who lands herself in the hospital, a charming drama teacher, a timely visit from an old friend, a group of lovely and accepting theatrical comrades and all the bloody parts of Macbeth. I loved this book--it's hip, it's funny and it's moving. Yvonne Prinz's pitch-perfect humor and engaging, insightful prose make her perhaps the most readable YA author since Judy Blume.
