For 50 years the Northmen have gathered for three days the first week of August, in the Northwoods of the Manistee State Forest, near Kalkaska, Michigan. These Christian men and boys (sometimes numbering over a 1,000) camp in tents and campers, cook on Coleman stoves and campfires, and gather under a huge tent to sing Christ's praises and to hear great preaching of the Restoration Movement. Begun by Mike Steere and Edsil Dale, The Northmen has always been dedicated to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and to restoring the Church He established in the New Testament. For decades "tents and events" were set for boys to learn of Christ, in this unique wilderness setting. The creek, with Baptism Point, and the Teen Canoe Trip on Thursday also provide creative times to learn of their Creator. The Northmen operated on a free-will offering basis and depended upon God and His people to exist. All the great singing and preaching was accentuated by the tremendous fellowship and sharing around the campfires from Tuesday night through Thursday. Through five decades men and boys have seen "Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps . . . " at Northmen.Inside you will find: The Mission of Northmen by Mike Steere Edsil Dale: A True Man of God by Mike Steere The List of 50 years of Northmen Speakers and Themes An Acknowedgment of the Northmen Setup Crew A List Northmen Music Leaders The Names of Jr. and Teen Northmen Leaders The Northmen Song Lyrics Northmen Testimonies Selected Northmen Newsletter Articles The Complete List of Newsletter Authors and Articles And, the Historic List of "Northmen Rules"
