The cabin up north is about getting away and relaxing. Who wants the hassle of making a complicated meal? North Country Cabin Cooking is your answer - filled with simple and make-ahead recipes that... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I stumbled upon this cookbook by chance in Bemidji, Minnesota, a few years ago. And thank goodness, for it's been a lifesaver, helping me cook for guests who visit our north woods cabin. There are three recipes that our guests request over and over: the baked chicken with honey, mustard and curry, the easy no-crust blueberry pie (probably the best recipe in the whole book) and also the banana-blueberry bread. While not all the recipes are ultra-gourmet, they are delicious and practical. When you're out in the woods, less fussy meals are de rigeur anyway, n'est-ce pas?. Thank you, dear authors, for sharing these yummy dishes.

I found this cookbook on the bookshelf in the cabin we rented for a week. Many too many great recipes to mention, but "Company-at-the-Cabin" caught my eye and it's great! Best part is the book is written (or compiled) by women from Minnesota. Thanks!

Very simple, basic recipes. Would also be good for a young person cooking for themselves for the first time. Ingredients can be found in most any small town market.
