Learning Chinese

This is a great set of books if you are serious about learning Chinese. It starts with the fundamentals and builds week by week. The workbooks gives plenty of practice to really compound what you are learning, but you do need to get a hold of the audio CD to go with it so that you can do the exercises, however this is available in most instances to download.

Very good material

Although the topis are based on situations for university students, the book covers the 4 main skills (writing, reading, speaking and listening) in a very good way. The authors should include colorful photos in order to offer a more attractive material though.
