no stopping nate coffin

J lee Butts is my kind of Western author. Earthy, real and his characters are distinctively dishevelled like Nate Coffin, or the hero of this missive , the brave and bold Lucius Dodge. Butts' book is as enthralling as any of the good HBO westerns that glue us to the screen. As the pages roll by, my minds-eye sees the Nineteenth Century Texas Rangers in all their gunsmoking grubiness and glory. His use of language is superb, evocative with word pictures like " man saved me from a sulfurous hell and eternity carrying a pitchfork " I cant wait for his next book to be published .
