My Lifeline

The air around me felt cold, as I shivered, rubbing my hands on the opposite sides of my arms, hoping it would make me warmer.

I looked around my surroundings, almost as if realizing now, that I was somewhere else that wasn't my bedroom. Yet, I wasn't fazed, I was well aware where I was. The place where I stood, was awfully dark, and quiet.

It wasn't the type of darkness that was merely something that came out of the absence of light, it was much more sinister. The atmosphere felt almost impenetrable as I stood rooted to the spot. I'm back in this place...where my mind seems to endlessly haunt me every night. Waking me up from my slumber every night.I knew it was impossible to wake up, until what I was being shown in my dreams soon, was completed.
