This journal should appeal to children eight and under, according to my eight-year-old granddaughter, an authority whose opinions I take seriously. She loves to read but isn't thrilled about her school journal, which requires sentences about what she liked or didn't like about the book. She approved this style, which is just for tracking. However, every other page is intentionally left blank, so young readers can record their thoughts in sentence form or draw a picture. I hope your young reader will enjoy looking back someday and remembering the books he loved as a child. And I hope this is one of them.
