Sheila Malory?s old friends Charlie and Jo Hamilton run a popular riding school in the quiet English town of Taviscombe. When Charlie is found dead in his stables from a blow to the head?with only his horses as witnesses to his final moments? the entire community is shaken. Especially since Charlie?s is just the first in a series of shocking and suspicious deaths. Mrs. Malory is on the case, but the trail of clues, from an unlucky horseshoe to a lethal electric fence, proves to be anything but a smooth ride.
Although I enjoy all the Mrs. Malory and...books, this one in particular is well-written. The surprise ending is brilliant. Some times when an author gives a surprise ending the reader can feel some how cheated...not this time. All the clues are there and plenty of suspects. Bravo to Hazel Holt for trying something out of the ordinary. Jacqui Taylor Author of "The Traveler's Guide to New England: MASSACHUSETTS" www.jacquitaylorphoto.com

Another interesting puzzle for Mrs. Mallory. Not as intricate as some, but a good read on a winter evening in front of the fire.
A fine mystery

Hazel Holt's MRS. MALORY AND A TIME TO DIE tells of one Sheila Malory and an old friend found dead in his stables from a blow to the head. And that's just the beginning of a murder spree Sheila needs to put the cap on in this fine mystery. A top pick for mystery readers.
