Data, data and more data - all well organized

While ETFs are increasing in popularity, there are few objective sources of analysis. Look no further than Morningstar's book. In a comprehensive, well-organized manner, the book provides you with information about the largest and most actively traded ETFs. The first part of the book provides an overview of ETFs and comparisons with traditional mutual funds (no new earth shattering information can be gleaned from this part if you are familiar with ETFs already). The main component of the book is a series of 1 page report for each ETF providing data on performance, style, holdings, and their analysts "take" on that ETF, among other data. The third part provides detailed tables on past performance of these ETFs and provides rankings. The book also includes a 2 week research "pass" to their ETF website. Overall, an excellent reference source for ETFs for investors. Those familiar with their fund reports, know that Morningstar does not issue Buy/Sell reccomendations per se. (their paid stock and fund investor newsletter does that to an extent). For the price, an excellent resource. If you are considering investing "substantial" sums into mutual funds, ETFs may be a better choice, and this book should be where you begin and end your research.
