Of all of Denys Cazet's books, this is my favorite. The book uses a take off of Twas the night before Christmas on each chapter page, but with a farm theme. This is a clever idea and easy to have kids imitate when writing using other settings. The story revolves around Minnie and Moo helping the farmer deliver his grandchildren's forgotten presents. The cows have to devise a plan to deliver the presents Santa style. The reader gets to see how the cows problem solve each part of the gift delivery process. I love how Cazet's illustrates the book and ties forks to the chicken's heads to have them resemble reindeer. It's a cute, funny and unforgettable story.

He's outgrown the Minnie and Moo series. Fortunately, I have nieces who are younger. These are funny books! The catch line in all of the books is "I was thinking, Moo" and then trouble usually starts. Now anytime I'm talking to my husband and say "I was thinking..." He says, Uh Oh Minnie. Fun books for kids and their parents. Enjoy!
