Life-changing books for me

So this isn't a completely accurate review, because I don't own the paperback versions of these books, only the hardback ones. So as to the quality of the book and binding, etc., I have nothing to say. However, as to the quality of the stories, I have a lot to say. Very often I hear people say that they do not like these series (Millie Keith and the more popularly known Elsie Dinsmore series). For clarification, I will tell you that in the 1800's, authoress Martha Finley wrote the Elsie Dinsmore series. There are about 30 books in that series. Recently, the company Mission City Press took these books and revised and condensed them into 8 newer, easier to read books. They did the same of Martha's other series, Mildred Keith, and created the 8-book Millie Keith series, as well as the Violet Travilla series. Okay, so now that we have that cleared up, I will say that I haven't read the original series. I find Mission City Press's revisions easy to read and very powerful. I first read these series when I was about 12, and I still love them (at 16 years old). Elsie, Millie, and Violet are strong, moral characters that are great heroines for all girls. These books have strong Christian themes, but also have lovely romances, adventure, and a bit of sadness, too, in some of the books. Bottom line, these books brought about a notable change in my character and personality. Faith-building, enjoyable reads. Highly recommended to girls and women alike!

I really thought this book is not only good reading but educational for young girls who wish to be witnesses of the Christain faith through their actions and words, while also dealing with the struggles almost every girl in a new situation goes through.

I thought this was an amazing book. If I wanted Bible verses for the day all I had to do was look in the book. My personal favorite is Proverbs 3;5-6 Trust In the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowlrdge him in all your ways and he will set your paths straight. I recomend this book to any christian girl or urging to get closer to God or a non christain who wants to know Him.age 13
