The Real Reformation

Menno Simons was a dedicated man of God who took the commands of Christ into daily life. Unlike the majority of the Protestant Reformation leaders who turned as vicious and bloodthirsty as the Catholic Church (Calvin/Zwingli/Luther) , Simons and the other anabaptists refused to place the church with the state. Menno's writings are filled with compassion while at the same time proclaiming a true call to holiness and obedience. To Menno Simons, faith actually WORKED instead of being a mere mental ascent. Being born again was really about being NEW and not an being "old barn with new paint." Anyone interested in the true crimson thread of the cross of Calvary through history by men of God who actually OBEYED Christ and lived for him should read about Menno Simons. The book contains a brief biography of Menno that is also included in the "Complete Works of Menno Simons" (which I also highly recommend) and then has selections from his writings under a topical format.

Real Reformer!

This book has a short, but sweet little biography about a man of God when there were very few true men of God. He was willing to be homeless and put his life on the line everyday in order to stand up for the truth of God's Word. When men like Zwingli and Luther are celebrated for their part in the "reformation", men like Menno Simons took the reformation all the way! Other "reformers" sold the Bible and God short when they came out of the Roman Catholic Church. Menno did not! After the short biography, there is a section that gives brief statements about what he believed doctrinally. He is right on in almost everything and exposes the lies of the other "reformers". Take a read of this book in order to read about a REAL Reformer!
