Once an alcoholic drug dealer whose life revolved around street fights and gang warfare, Alan Mortlock's conversion has made him an interesting figure in London's East End. Alan is a boxing trainer and promoter, known as the "pirate promoter" because he champions the cause of unlicensed boxing, who has become an outspoken Christian evangelist with a passion for bringing Christ to the villians and hard men among whom he lives and works. He now heads "Godfellas," a group of tough Eastenders who travel the country presenting their boxing skills and sharing the Gospel.
This is an unusual book. It's about a London criminal and how he finds a way out of crime. Alan Mortlock descends into violence, drugs and drink. The author Greg Watts tells the story wit great skill and pace. I read the book in an evening. At the end of it, I felt really inspired. This is one of the best books I have read this year.

This is a really inspiring book. It's the story of a London criminal and how he finds a way out of his destructive lifestyle. At times, it's very moving. I couldn't put it down. An inspiring book.
