Saxon math programs produce confident students who are not only able to correctly compute, but also to apply concepts to new situations. These materials gently develop concepts, and the practice of those concepts is extended over a considerable period of time. This is called "incremental development and continual review." Material is introduced in easily understandable pieces (increments), allowing students to grasp one facet of a concept before the next one is introduced. Both facets are then practiced together until another one is introduced. This feature is combined with continual review in every lesson throughout the year. Topics are never dropped but are increased in complexity and practiced every day, providing the time required for concepts to become totally familiar. I think this manual is great for parents that homeschool. because it is totally scripted it takes all the guess work out of teaching your child.

Excellent gradients for students with lots of practice and drilling. Easy to teach without having to step out of this curriculum to help the students understand.

easy, fun, works

I love this curriculum. I'm using it again for my son. It has the number facts in a color combination that logically groups them, making them easier to memorize. This is priceless.The teacher manual is straightforward and lays out plainly and completely. You will NOT be stressed and you will NOT be left wondering if you missed teaching something. The incremental (reviewed) practices leave no room for failure. Lessons are given in script format. The parent/teacher is given what to say. Step by step.
