Konica Minolta's new digital SLR camera-called the Maxxum 7D in North America and the Dynax 7D elsewhere-offers many unique digital SLR features. Magic Lantern helps users thoroughly understand all its advantages, and goes beyond the user's manual with complete instructions for operating such innovative elements as the exclusive Konica Minolta Anti-Shake System, exposure compensation settings, white balance controls, creative focus control, auto exposure, and honey-comb metering system.
This is an outstanding guide to the 7D. The owners' manual just tells you how to sets things on the camera. This guide tells you why you should do it and what the effect will be. .

Great book with a lot of information. I have a Maxxum 5D but the book still applies to my camera.
Very Informative!

This book is not only more detailed and informative than the documentation that came with the camera, it helped me understand the differences between digital and film photography. I now see digital photography as an art form in it's own right, and I can't wait to embark on this new journey.

This book is very good. A lot more info than the instructions that came with the camera. Helps you understand the functions and how to operate your new camera. This book is a must for using your new Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D/Dynax 7D.
Great extension to the official owner's manual!

Are you excited about your new Maxxum 7D? Want to read more and more about taking pictures, lenses to use and features of your new camera? Then this is the book for you. I called this an "extension" to the manual, as it is not a replacement. The manual tends to tell you WHAT a menu item or button is, and this book tends to tell you what it is and HOW to use it. The book covers aperture, shutter speed, lenses, accessories, flash photography and also gives scenarios and how to use your camera in those situations. It will focus on a given situation, say, taking a potrait in cloudy conditions, then tell you specifics on how to use the Maxxum 7D's features to get the best outcome. Overall, I would say this book is better for the beginner to intermediate photographer. Advanced photographer's will find a lot of "I already knew that" amongst the pages, but it is still a good read on the toilet. You can get away with just the official manual, but if you are really excited about your new Maxxum 7D, you'll want this book.
