Adequate

I agree that there are other guides, but really all one needs is the instruction manual with this book, and you'll have more than enough information to get off the couch reading a guide to the camera and out in the world shooting!

Better than the original users manual

Very pleased. The original user manual must have been the work of a committee restricted to use of a Scrabble boardgame to write. That manual merely resembles usable text. Enter the Magic Lantern Guides. IT CONTAINS usable text. I find the guide as essential to the proper functioning my camera as fresh batteries.

This is a well written practical guide on how to get the most out of your Canon 40D. Particularly helpful are features of the camera that don't work so well such as automatic white balance

Great book...unless you read Greek(re. the camera's user manual)this is a must have...I automatically get a Magic Lantern Guide when I get a new camera.

Camera Manual

A definite improvement and a must over the manual that comes with the camera. I read both manuals cover to cover and the Magic Latern book is a much better explanation of the operation of this digital camera.
