Catherine Ann McIntyre is the first woman president of the United States and she has won with the new Constitutional Party. She is a no-nonsense woman that won because of her wit, wisdom, and down to earth charm. The symbol of her new party is an American bison, and one cartoonist shows the bison shoving a donkey and elephant off a cliff. This gives you some idea that she is not one to be trifled with.

This 96,000-word novel is set in the not-too-distant future and it tackles the tough issues that we face today. After a failed assassination attempt, she is the first modern president to carry a gun. She also has female bodyguards, which leads to some humorous moments. In addition, the story has a very surprising twist at the end concerning one of the characters.

Having an iron will and bulldog determination, she (the president) not only is brash and rude, to make matters worse, she is beginning to go through "the change". Will she be able to cope with all the stresses of the presidency? What if there is a conflict, which always happens? Will she let her reason or her emotions rule?
