Annie Lockhart's colorful exterior concealed a serious psychic ability. And if her latest visions were true, a serial killer was preying on couples deeply in love. She had been burned by her talents before, so instead of going to the police, she hired private investigator Lucky Santana to find the killer. Even though Lucky wasn't sure about this assignment, Annie drove him crazy, in more ways than one...which made their task all the more torturous: Annie and Lucky set out to look like a happy couple. As their faux relationship turned all too real and passionate, the killer came in for one last deadly showdown.
Almost glad to be rid of these females --- Lucky Santana is the last of Benning's agents to get a story [I think]so far. Quinn Calhoun is now heading Bennings Investigators and sends Lucky Santana to check out a request from a "kook". Lucky figures a quick check and he can go home to Nashville for a few days. In his eyes, psychic's just aren't real. But Annie Lockhart has been having some very disturbing dreams about a killer. And he must be getting close, for her dreams are very vivid. Santana does not do pretty women. Only bimbo's that know the score, but Annie starts to intrigue him. Dang, but she seems to know about Sadie. Who told her? Well he can stick around to see if anything shows up to warrant opening the Huff murder/sucide case. The local sheriff is not going to be very helpful. Santana puts in a call Truman McCain who is now sheriff and has a legal pull for gathering information. Sadie wants to help if only on the computer tracking down similar questionable murders. Sadie and Truman now have a son, Grant and a little daughter. Annie makes weird hats and hand-bags? and Lucky wants to order a diaper bag with a hidden holster for a gun. Annie thinks Lucky is crazy and expects a similar reaction from Sadie. Yeah! Right! Truman nix's the idea. Leave it to a man. It ends up that Annie uses sex to put a damper on her visions [dreams] and we have to suffer through some PMS scenes until we get back to the intriguing plot. Romance or sex seems to dull the inbuilt self-preservation instincts. Finally we get to the nitty-gritty and get a little bit of a shock as to the identity of the killer. Dangerous but loses some of the terror that should have been prevalent in the final scenes. Ah Well, this is the 4th book. Ideas can perk only so long. Sadie and Truman show up - Cal's sister, Kelly has now been working for Benning for 4 years and seems interested in Dante - no word as to the family status of Flynn Benning [should of had a couple of kids even at his age] Love the stories just don't like the females. Still Recommend --M - decent reading set.
