Mapp and Lucia are women living in a small village in England. They and their neighbors are obsessed with the minutiae of small town life. They spy on their neighbors, cheat at cards, run for office, and try to take as much advantage of their neighbors as they can. The book is funny. If you like it and want more, it's part of a series by E. F. Benson.

This was the fourth book I read in Benson's Lucia series--by the time I sped through the first three, I simply could not wait to pick this one up. I was not disappointed! The back stabbing only gets better. I laughed out loud so many times while reading in bed--my husband began to wonder just what in the world I was up to. Highly reccommended (I never can spell that right)--anyway, buy them all, and put your name in them...
