Searching for a Roman relic, Melpomene Lowery has only two weeks to unearth the valuable artifact with her archaeologist father before she returns to London for her debut. Her father arranges for an assistant to speed her work--visiting scholar Miles Kennestone, Lord St. Leger. Mellie has never met a more arrogant man, but she realizes his formidable facade hides a beguiling charm. Original.
This book was a lot of fun to read. I really liked the unconventional heroine, and the archaeological angle was unusual and interesting. Lots of funny scenes -- the one at the Egyptian tomb exhibition particularly surprised me and amused me. It was also nice to see the characters grow as the story concludes.
