This June 1996 episode finds Longarm in northern Nevada to bring one of the states hardest cutthroats back to Denver to face trial for murder. This is a task that Longarm feels he can take in stride.Boy,what surprises are in store for him. Before long, our hero has three gunshot wounds and it looks like the end is near. The town is as crooked as can be,and there is no local law worth talking about. In fact, the law is more trouble to Longarm than the owlhoots, who are pals of the outlaw he has to bring back to Denver. Finally, Longarm is able to get his prisoner into a Medicine Man's wagon and slips out of town. This is one of the tales where our hero uncharacteristically allows the prisoner to outfox him several times;but luckily regains control. Things keep going from bad to worse ,to the point where Longarm ends up alone with four stiffs in the back of his wagon;and they are getting "ripe" real fast. The storyline is very simple, there are many characters along the route, and a continual stream of fast action. There is no doubt about who the bad guys are;only how will our hero ever manage to complete his mission.
