This March 1997 episode of Longarm finds us travelling with our hero on a Union Pacific train through the wilds of Wyoming, between Rawlins and Laramie;heading for Cheyenne. It's a stormy night and the train has to stop at the little town of Kittstown because the track is snowbound a few miles ahead. What seemed to be ,a simple delay, turned into quite an adventure. A girl is found murdered, and Longarm takes it upon himself to bring the killer or killers to justice. The weather is so bitter, the snowbound track takes several days to clear. We get a real good feel of life in a whistle stop and a very small community. Longarm soon gets to know everyone in town and while he figures he he probably has seen the killer;he has no idea who did it. The story is filled with various types of characters, situations and good writing. Just a good Old West saga and you just know Longarm is going to solve this murder---that is if someone doesn't kill him first.
