Good alternative to the manual

I bought this book because I am new to Logic Pro and I was very much intimitated by the 2 encyclopedias of info that come with the program. I read this book after already completing about 80% of the Logic Pro manuals, and this book had basically the same info, but in a quicker, more accessible way for a newcomer. It is a great book, but if you have the patience for the included manuals, this book mostly repeats what you find in the Logic Manuals (The author, Orren Merton, even wrote some of the manuals!). Great Book if you are new to Logic, and want a middle ground between the quickstart manual and getting your doctorate in Logic Manual 101.

Excellent Logic Pro 7 Resource

The ideal companion to Logic 7 Ignite!, Logic Pro 7 Power! is a powerful tool in unlocking the full potential of Apple's Logic Pro 7 music production software. Anyone who uses Logic knows that its depth can be intimidating to the beginner, and its very flexibility can often present the newcomer with an embarrassment of options. Here Orren Merton systematically lays out, in detail, the solutions to achieving the most productive results from Logic, including the mysteries and power of the Environment. Also included is a liberal supply of tips and tricks that will help shorten the learning curve, and a very informative hour-long Tutorial CD. As a long time user of Logic, I keep this book conveniently to hand in my studio just in case the implementation of one of the new features eludes me or, yes, just in case I've forgotten how to use a feature I haven't used in a while. All in all, it's user-friendlier and better laid out than Logic's unwieldy manual and I recommend it highly.

Excellent Reference Plus Tutorial

The history of Logic Pro goes back to the very beginnings of computer music and the Commodore 64 computer. Through various product and company name changes, it is not an Apple product. This means that it gets the full Apple treatment of support, documentation and an absolute guarantee that it will flawlessly work on Apple computers. Logic Pro is a professional quality music production. It incorporates virtually every feature needed in music software and of course uses a graphical user interface for the user. This book opens with very basic information aimed at the novice/beginner level. It progresses through the intermediate level to end with a few chapters at the expert level. It's basic format is reference like rather than tutorial. That is, it tells you what can be done and how to do it rather than a series of do this instructions. The CD that comes with the book is tutorial based. It includes an hour of a professional user going through the key features and techniques to get the most out of Logic 7.
