Great beginner's reference

This is another title I came across at the library, read cover to cover, and still wanted a copy for my own library. There's a lot of great information for beginning backpackers. Anyone with some experience won't find it particularly helpful, but for the novice its an excellent learning tool and resource.

Well done book.

One of the best books written that can help someone get started backpacking and refresh a seasoned packer on skills and tricks that are helpful in the backcountry. Many tips and information cover the full range of backpacking topics, from buying gear to making it home. The info in the handbook can be used for more than packing, like impressing beautiful girls (Jes Mcaff) with your survival skills or Keeping comfortable in harsh enviroments.
