Title:Lizzie at Last Author:Claudia Mills Why I chose this book is because when my mom bought it I didn't read it until I got in seventh grade.I read it because it caught my attention and we had to read a book everyday for twenty minutes.So I read it and I really liked it and I read it in four days. Setting:The setting is in school,home and in a football game. Characters:Lizzie,Ethan,Mom,Aunt,Marcia,and teachers Summary:Agirl named Lizzie wants to be popular so a boy named Ethan would like her and she would not be called geeky names.She stoped wearing Emily Dickson dresses and wore Gap jeans and tanktops. I could recommend this book to people who love non-fiction.

Lizzie at Last

Lizzie Archer is entering seventh grade at West Creek Middle School in Colorado. Back to school. Back to teasing and giggles and gossip and tricks and jokes and an unrequited love for Ethan Winfield. So, in a desperate attempt to change her fate, Lizzie's aunt helps her buy a whole new wardrobe, outside of Lizzie's usual white dresses like that of Emily Dickinson. But it's not just her clothes that need changing, Lizzie realizes. No other girls take out their notebooks and scribble poetry on the spot. No other girls eat alone at lunch. No other girls have a mother with long black and gray hair or a father that twirls his beard when he reads and has the New York Times delivered to their house (at a ridiculous amount, of course). So Lizzie tries to model herself after popular girl Marcia Faitak. And while Lizzie makes a new friend and even goes to a skating party (she can't skate; neither can her friend Alison) and football games (it's freezing, she's scared of heights and she doesn't know the game), she tries Marcia's advice and her math grades start going downhill. But Lizzie confides in her horoscope to make everything a little easier. It all comes together during Lizzie's first slow dance at the end of the book, when she realizes that she can be the kind of person who wears jeans and goes to football games and who also wears dresses and writes poetry. She also learns not to depend on horoscopes to guide her life and, as her mother says, "follow your own star." This is a sweet and funny book about self-discovery and confidence in who you are. It's great for reluctant readers and you won't be able to put it down.

Lizzie At Last

Lizzie at Last is my all time favorite book!!! I read it four times already and I haven't gotten sick of it yet! It relates to my life a lot! (except it didn't work for me with the new clothes n stuff but ne way...) I can never put it down nomatter how many times I read it! You will never get sick of reading it! I would recommend it to anybody!

I Am In Middle School and I Loved This Book!

This book is very good. The life of Lizzie trying to grow out of her Emily Dickinson clothing and her vintage dresses is a roller coaster. Claudia Mills has created a typical plot, a girl who is jsut trying to fit in.

A Great book that teaches me a lesson

As Lizzie is about to enter 7th grade she decides with the help of her visiting aunt that she needs a change. She just can't stand being teased around anymore. But will new clothe and an new style really change Lizzie? This is a great book about how we shouldn't tease people who are maybe a little different because everyone is different and without differences we would really be a boring bunch! I highly reccommend this book because I was really touched at how teasing changed Lizzie so much but in the end we all learned our lesson about being different!
