This volume presents the results of excavations which took place between 2000 and 2004 at four sites in Worcester city centre, all immediately outside the medieval city walls. One site at St Martin's Gate to the northeast of the centre revealed 1st-3rd century pits containing evidence of Iron smelting. The remaining three sites, located at the Butts to the north of the centre revealed an occupation sequence of Roman and later phases, with features including a Roman well and large quantities of ironworking waste products.
