I found this book extremely interesting because it presents a whole new different way to approach your relationship with your children. The basic ideas could be trust your children, let them be themselves, and be genuine. Real parents are tired at times, make plenty of mistakes, change their minds on different subjects and do not know everything. We can all learn things from our children. I believe that if you treat children like animals they will behave like animals, and if you treat them like persons they will behave accordingly. I also like the way it is written, switching from the author's experience rearing her three children and the varied input she has received from other parents, professional play therapists and other written material she has read. At the end of each chapter there is a summary, one page with the main ideas that could help you through tough moments. I also found 'Three in a bed' by the same author most inspiring.

A good book full of tips and ideas, that lets you decide what kind of education you rather give your children, specially when you feel guilty about not following the most common set of rules. However, I liked "three in a bed" book from the same author much better, found it more easy-going and recommend it even more.
