As an RN who works in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit for children ages 4-12, I found this book extremely valuable. It is very difficult to find resources like this about inpatient child psychiatric care. I am hoping to get everyone on our unit to read this book so that we are on the same page and can incorporate ideas from this book on our relatively new unit. Dr. Cotton is definitely an expert in this field and I agree with her philosophy and respect her clinical expertise. The examples she uses throughout the book are so helpful. It is obvious that Dr. Cotton is someone who has been working in the field, not just some philosophical theorist. This is a great book to use in clinical practise.
