Succinct Capsules of Wisdom

Through the years of all levels of education; from elementary school to post-graduate studies, the greatest minds are often referred to and quoted directly. But who were they really? What did they stand for most? Lessons from Great Lives encapsulates that for the reader in an efficient manner. This book allows you to get the distillate without what may be considered excess. You are able to feel, absorb and relate to the great lives that are quoted. I will never forget how I inspired I felt the first time I read about Churchill addressing his that "We shall not flag nor fail. We shall go on to the end" Who do you know that is fighting a personal battle that would not benefit to hear the greatest motivational words ever uttered? This is a great book to gift because it offers the possiblity of opening the reader's mind to learn more about lives they relate to most. I am glad I can say have read the spectrum of lives and feel touched by their contributions to humanity.

Should be required reading!

Our society needs more motivation and inspiration to become better thinkers. We need role models that will help us to rise above our current circumstances. This is a must read for everyone.

Sill, that was first published in 1981 and had been lost to the masses for over 25 years, and republished it. Dan has written a special preface as an introduction. This classic book contains the wisdom of the ages from the lives of such great men as Sir Winston Churchhill, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Leonardo da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Socrates and many others. This book and its distilled wisdom impacted me in a major way in just the first couple of chapters. This is an inspired work that I would definitely recommend adding to your must read list. This is a great book because it is the real deal! No modern day hype. You can get rich in all areas of your life in reading just 20 minutes a day. There is not a better book I ever have recommended for studying to improve your life. The biggest disappointment of this book for me was that it ENDED!!! To read about Ralph Waldo Emerson in just 12 pages and the impact it had on me says something in itself. I couldn't put the book down, every page is highlighted with notes!!! In this book Dan McCormick reveals the secrets and discovers time tested principles that drove the greatest lives ever lived, and now it's in our hands!!!
