This is a wopnderful book. Hard to put down. She makes the traverse from the East to New Mexican seem easy, but also gets the hardships across. Her positive attitute is inspiring! A very good read.

I bought this book while vacationing in Taos, NM last October. It is a wonderful book about that whole area and of course Marion's trips by wagon over and back and over again the Santa Fe Trail. It has a lot of history in the book. After visiting Kit Carson's home and this book I felt I receive a history lesson no one received in our schools today. This book should be read by all students.
