Made Mummy giggle too

This book was just the ticket for one evening when the bedtime routine seemed to be a struggle for everyone... because it got us all laughing at poor Kipper as he tried to count his toys. What exactly is going on is a bit of a mystery to Kipper -- but the readers start to figure it out before he does. A truly delightful book that had us ALL laughing out loud.

Cute and entertaining

My son is 20 months. He loves this book. He has loved it for a few months now. He loves the pictures and the counting. I like the book I love mick inkpen and all of his books are cute. This one is nice. It goes over putting away your toys and counting. It promotes sharing and understanding. It is a cute story and does not make me dread reading it.

Of mice and mayhem...

When Kipper notices that something or someone has nibbled a hole in his toybox, he worries that some of his toys may be missing. But when he does a tally of noses (the toys are all animals), instead of too few, there are too many... And when the snakelike "sock thing" starts wriggling away, Kipper doesn't know what to do -- none of his toys has ever come to life before! Kipper eventually discovers that the culprits are a couple of mice and he kindly invites them to nest in his comfy basket. The last page of the story is a particular treat -- a delightful picture of mayhem, with baby mice running riot through Kipper's toybox and basket (with the sweetly resigned expression on Kipper's face worth a thousand words)!The simple lively text and charming pictures ensure that even the youngest of audiences remain captive throughout and the book is a real pleasure for toddlers and adults alike.
