Kate on the Coast by Pat Brisson, is a book about a girl who is moving and is writing to her friend, Lucy. Kate travels to all different places while she is at her new home is Seattle, Washington. Kate travels to places like Ketchikan, Alaska, Hollywood, California, Sumter, Oregon, San Francisco, California, Honolulu, Hawaii, Yosemite, California and Reedsport, Oregon. While she was having a blast, she writes all about her adventures at the places. It is an excellent way to see what a letter to and from someone really is like. I really learned a lot about all of these places. It makes me want to learn more about them. It is a magnificent I recommend it for 5 to10 year olds because it has large words and it is a picture book.
