**** This was a great little book (200 pages, 7.5" x 5.5" book)! It consists of chapters with various themes (e.g., "Up with Menopause") filled with short experpts of women's opinions and then text/commentary about them. It is a small book packed with a lot of wisdom, though. If you're feeling down about turning 50, or feel like life is getting more limited rather than expansive, this is the book for you. Or, if you're aging and not liking it, this is also the book for you. I thought it was wonderful; it made me excited about going through menopause. It's an easy, fun read that will even appeal to non-readers because of the format. It also would make a terrific gift! ****

My sister, who is older, sent me this book. I wanted to cry with appreciation. I could never put in words the feelings that I had inside untill I read this book. We are all special no matter what our age. With youth comes beauty, but the beauty that women of a certain age have, comes from confidence and wisdom. This book only confirms what I knew deep inside all the time.

Yes -- age matters, like size. Yes -- Madonna will undergo menopause. No -- age is a debit. No -- personal strength and clarity suffers by getting older. For Juicy Tomatoes (and their harvesters) this book is a MUST! Susan Swartz defines women by their commitment to LIFE, and ENERGY, and their FUTURE. Not by the clock, not by the male images in American Beauty. Not just a must-read. A must-live!!!
