Treating each other with respect

Forrest Gathercoal presents a comprehensive summation of Judicious Discipline. It is a program that can be implemented at any grade level and promotes respect and value in the school environment. It is based on the constitution. Students are mentored in their rights and that from rights flows responsibilities. The book is well organized and an important read for teachers and administrators who are uncomfortable with traditional forms of classroom management that rely on external control of the student rather than self-regulation.

It changed my life!

Not everyone who works with children, or anyone else for that matter, will appreciate this book- at first. Once you actually apply some of the practices and strategies suggested in Gathercoal's book, you will see that it makes sense. It's just too bad that not everyone in America will read this one.
