Author and illustrator Martha Zschock was a third-grade teacher on Cape Cod. When taking her students on field trips on the Cape, she discovered what sites and stories excited them most. Drawing on that experience, she created what one Cape Cod bookseller calls the best Cape book we've ever had, and the first in a series of alphabet books that visit great American places. Journey Around Cape Cod and the Islands From A to Z is an alphabet book, but one that is equally enjoyable and interesting for children of all ages and for adults, as well. From Aptucxet to Zooplankton, it offers fascinating information about the Cape and its history, all of it illustrated with Zschock's beautiful watercolor work.
The book is in excellent condition. It is a great book for all ages.
This is a great series of books. Gets the kids excited about visiting the area.

We bought the Boston, Cape Cod and New York books and loved them all. It was a great way to get my 9 year old daughter familiar with and excited about the areas before we travelled there. I highly recommend these beautiful, simple, yet informative books.
A Must For All Young Cape Codders

When I was growing up, our family always vacationed at Cape Cod. We are now fourth generation Cape Cod vacationers, and quite frankly, I thought we knew all there was to know about Cape Cod until I got a guided tour from a seagull in Martha Zscock's JOURNEY AROUND CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS. Zschock was a third grade teacher at the time she wrote the book. As a teacher she has the respects the natural curiosity and intelligence of children. Her book includes the familiar tourist attractions as well as lesser known and perhaps even ignored places on Cape Cod.I purchased the book for my young niece to help her learn about the alphabet, knowing that her mother, who would be reading the book to her, would love the Cape Cod images. Now the book accompanies my niece to the Cape each year and serves almost as a check list of must see places and landmarks on the Cape.
