Jenny wants a kitten from the pet store but when she doesn't receive it after saying a prayer, she questions whether God is listening. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The story of "Jenny's Prayer" is not only touching, but it also teaches each of us that God's plan is not always in accordance with our own. Through the experience of a child, we learn that our own wants and desires are not what is important. It also poignantly reminds parents of how easily we can fall into the trap of not truly listening to our children when we allow ourselves to distracted by everyday tasks and activities. My daughter and I love this book and have shared wonderful heart-to-heart conversations about God, prayer and our "wants" after reading it. I highly recommend it!
He Listens!

Jenny's Prayer is a masterful, true-to-life example of answered prayer. In a story almost any child could identify with, Annette Griessman spins a delicate tale of a little girl's desire for a special pet. She gently takes us through conflict and disappointment, then on to triumph and a realization of the faithfulness of God. Ms. Griessman has wonderful ability to cut through the theology and just gives us the simple truth. Mary Lard's beautiful illustrations lend colorful punctuation to the text, and give points of reference for the child to anchor upon. This is a marvelous addition to a grandparent's or parent's personal library, and a wonderful companion to Ms. Griessman's other work, "Gabriel, God and the Fuzzy Blanket".
