We are not a Democracy

I bought this book because I like both Jefferson and Madison and love the relationship between the two. There are several good and accurate portrayals of both these great men with good, solid quotes to back them up. What I did not like is that the author seems to push the now current narrative of "our democracy." We are not a democracy nor have we ever been. This country is a representative Republic where each state democratically elected its representatives.
