It's been six months since Rose Franklin arrived in West Memphis, Arkansas. She ended up on the banks of the Mississippi River at the Shady Grove campground after her Ford Bronco broke down. She solved a murder and since then, it's been pretty quiet. Rose has settled into the daily ebb and flow of life at Shady Grove. She's helping Mary who runs the campground, has made friends and is enjoying a romance with a local man. But one night a stranger from New Mexico, Jacob Sunspeaker, drove into the campground and parked his travel trailer in a part of the campground that wasn't used. The next morning, Jacob's dog is found wandering around. With the dogs help, Rose finds Jacob murdered in his trailer. A silver bracelet Rose finds on the ground near the trailer is the only clue to Jacob's murder. Her curiosity is piqued and she becomes determined to solve the crime. But along the way she will encounter Indian artifacts, some danger, and she will be forced to face her father's imminent death. The relationship was never a good one and will challenge her ability to forgive. But in facing her father's coming death, Rose will also have to interrupt her romance. You'll wonder if that is for a brief time or forever. Once again Jackie Lynn has given her fans an interesting and unique mystery that is made better by the intriguing characters she plants in her novels. I can't wait for the next Shady Grove Mystery. Armchair Interviews says: Highly recommended.
