It is 1981 and Ben Wheelock is beginning his very first day of Public High School. Ben is bullied and teased from the first moment at his new school and is having the worst day of his life until he meets Amihan Lee. Ben and Ami have incredible chemistry and become best friends right off the bat. They band together to deal with Ben's disapproving parents, Ami's alcoholic dad and a school full of bullies. When tragedy occurs Ben is forced to move away from Ami. He plans his escape from his crazy gold digging Aunt. During his flight from his Aunt, Ben encounters a deranged man trying to kill him in a train box car. He believes he is wanted by the police for murder, changes his appearance and tries to get back home before thanksgiving. Only to face once more the bully who wants to destroy him.
