I got this because someone I know cooks from it and her miso soup is really delicious. It's an old book, but it is like a "primer" for macrobiotic cooking. For those of us who don't know how to cook but want to eat better, it's easy to follow. However, it also makes suggestions on additional ingredients for those of you who DO know how to cook and want to add a little more pizazz. All in all a sound buy for the money. PS ~ I bought it USED, and it works just as good. You may NOT be able to find it new.
