About the Editor:

Fred E. Jandt (Ph.D., Bowling Green State University) is Professor of Communication at California State University, San Bernardino and the recipient of the University's 2003 Outstanding Professor Award. He was a visiting professor at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and has also taught at SUNY-Brockport, where he became SUNY's first director of faculty development. Professor Jandt has been widely published in the field of communications and speaks at major national and international conferences.

Finally a text that gets it right

I have reviewed a number of intercultural communication texts and finally have found one that makes sense, is inclusive, historical, and accurate. I was particularly impressed to read an author who recognizes the offensiveness of using the word, "American" to refer only to those living in the U.S. The word could easily be applied to those in Central, South, and all those in North America. The author's writing style is engaging and commands the reader with powerful examples throughout.
