Most visions of heroes in literature are masculine. But the Bible is full of women who can only be described as heroic. Furthermore, one doesn't have to look to far today to find many examples of heroic women who's courage and faith empower them to make a difference in the world today. In Her Steps profiles these women of history and today. These forty vignettes will inspire the reader as Denise Marie Siino delves into each woman's life to uncover the depths of her valor. These women were chosen based on their dedication to serving the heart-concerns of God and the needs of people, sometimes in the face of adversity or opposition but always with great courage and determination.
Oh dear, I wonder if Nina had another book in mind when she wrote her review, because nowhere in the chapter on Mary of Magdala did I write that she was a prostitute. I wrote that people gossiped about her because in Jesus' day, if someone was deaf, blind or had an evil spirit (the Bible says Jesus cast 7 spirits out of Mary), it was presumed it was because of some sin the person or maybe their parents had committed. In each of the chapters about Bible characters, I remained true to the biblical account of their lives, as I did for all the women I wrote about in my book. As a journalist, honesty is my trademark. -Denise Marie Siino
