With a spare narrative and inviting watercolors, Martha Alexander tells a charming new tale of a boy and his beloved Blackboard Bear - who has some creative ideas about sharing. Share? Why? But you're mine! When the other children want to play with Anthony's bear, Anthony doesn't have to think twice about his response: NO, NO, NO. Anthony won't be bullied into sharing his friend. But could Blackboard Bear himself have the perfect solution to Anthony's problem?
My 4-year old daughter borrowed this book from the library and doesn't want to give it back. It's simple to read with excellent illustrations and the characters portray real life situations that a young child could encounter at preschool: bullying, begging, getting huffy, not wanting to share. By the end of the book with the help of blackboard bear the situation is resolved so that all of the kids are happy and friends again. When I first read it, I didn't think it was that appealing but my daughter has convinced me otherwise. She wants to read it again and again.
