Best friends Cherry Hill Summers and Rachel Harper finally find a news story for their sixth-grade Video News Hour when Cherry Hill saves Rachel from choking to death, but Rachel is hardly happy to... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I read this book when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I had been inundated with stories of best friends, who squabble and make up and remain friends, but I'd never read a book in which the characters actually cease to be friends. It actually helped me a lot: I'd just lost my best friend through some circumstances beyond my control, and couldn't understand what was going on. In this book, the choking incident is what sparks off the fight, but the two girls had really been growing apart for a long time. Cherry Hill is interested in boys, clothes, and make up: Rachel likes books, weather, and school. This would be a good book for any young girl who is just starting to realize that not everyone stays "Best Friends Forever".
