I have a 15 month old daughter. I can't tell you how much she loves Hugville. We read it at least 3 times every night before she goes to bed. She even has favorite hugs. It's a great book that I know she'll like for many years.

Hugging Dad's best friend

As a father of 2 girls - ages 4 and 2 - the best part of my day is usually coming home and being greeted with huge hugs from my "princesses". I just can't bear the thought of one day their being "too old" to hug their Daddy anymore. Which made the note from Court Crandall, discussing the origin of the book (his son saying he was too old for hugs anymore), that much more poignant for me. With Hugville, it gives me a wonderful new way to show my daughters the importance of hugs, whether they be silly "itchy dog" hugs, or your average, every day, run-of-the-mill "I love you" hugs. My girls love discovering new ways to express themselves, and this book is a wonderful, witty way for them to do so. As someone that still hugs his own Dad, this book really hit home for me.

As a classroom teacher and mother of 2, I'm always looking for books that are both entertaining and purposeful. Hugville provides the opportunity for kids to see hugs in a whole new light and will spark their imagination! Hugville is a book that I have on my classroom shelf as well as at home.

We love Hugville. Every night we "hug". This was not our normal routine prior to Hugville. We always read books at night but this book puts a whole new spin on "interactive". Thank you for being so clever and fun! We can't wait for the next one to come along. A Caldecott nomination may be necessary for this book! Thanks Court and Joe! Hugging is no longer "uncool" in our household even though my body aches every night! It's worth it! Maria Montuori
