Wanting time to himself, Hugh Pine goes to a solitary island, but soon learns how lonely peace and quiet can be. As he heads back home to the forest, he realizes that the good place is wherever you... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Second story of Hugh Pine, the porcupine who was determined enough to deal with humans AS a human. The original story, "Hugh Pine," was perfect. Hugh was a strong-willed forest creature who was able to transform himself in a way that made him able to negotiate the human world better than his fellow porcupines. In this story he is a little crankier and less willing to deal with his fellow creatures. The ending is once again telegraphed, making the outcome satisfying, but not surprising. Still lovely, with those pen and ink drawings that make you smile.
