Famed upside-down dolls of the mountain craftsmen of North Carolina with complete directions, dozens of how-to diagrams, patterns and photographs showing each doll in glowing color. Matching patterns... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a fun old book to look at - but I didn't find it particulary helpful. this book is based on some specific dolls that are traditional in the southeast part of the U.S. and it's fascinating to see them and see how they are made. I would probably never make one myself, but I certainly enjoyed reading it. Since it's long out of print, and since most libraries no longer keep older books around, you almost have to buy it to read it - but it certainly is reasonably priced enough. I would recommend it for the curiosity value, and perhaps you might be moved to make one of the dolls.
