As I write this, MySpace is the number one social network on the internet closely followed by Facebook. With tons of traffic and a way to brand your business, this is definitely a social networking site you want to consider for your business. This is one of the best books I've have read on MySpace, especially if you are a beginner. First, the author explains why you need a MySpace presence. Then he shows you how to get started with MySpace, including how to set up your profile, create your layout, and set your account so you are connecting with your potential customers. The marketing information is rudimentary as the author doesn't discuss how to promote yourself within the forums and groups. He does however, cover the free classified ad section, as well as how to make the most of comments, messages, and bulletins. There are quite a few case studies here where the author critiques several sites and shows you how to use this knowledge to make the most of your own MySpace page. He also includes several other social networking sites you may want to consider. At the end of the book is a checklist to walk you through the steps of getting set up (just in case you did like I did and read the whole book first.) This is a fast read, the author really engages you in the process, and he shows you how easy it is to get started with MySpace. This should be your first stop in learning to market on MySpace. Now it finally makes some sense

I have been looking for some interent marketing approaches for my three books. I have seen MySpace recommended as a a social marketing tool with great potential for reaching readers. I joined and started looking around. As far as I could see it looked like a giant playground with people talking a language I could make no sense of. I ran across Dennis's book last Sunday in Borders and finally realized there was hope for me in understanding and even using MySpace as a valuable tool. I am just scratching the surface of the possibilities outlined in this book but am excited about the prospects. Thanks, Dennis.
