As an introductory comment I will say that I am a 59 year old single man facing retirement in just a few short years. My hopes and dreams for retirement have only been schemes. While I have, from time to time, participated in 401(k) plans, I always thought I had a better idea. I didn't!The book lays out in relatively few words a fool-proof method for making dreams turn in to reality. This book provides a good overview of the 401(k) plan and how it works. Although it is very factual, if you kind of squint your eyes while you read it, you will detect a certain amount of poignant humor directed at our basic human nature and the misconceptions that we all have about saving money.I found the book to be very interesting reading. Although I am somewhat familiar with the 401(k) concept, my thinking, like so many folks, has dramatically changed as a result of the book. I found the portfilio alternatives to be of most interest and the down to earth explanation of their makeup was an eye-opener.While I qualify for many "senior citizen" discounts, it's still not too late to follow the guidelines identified in the book and put the knowledge and expertise of writers to work for me.If you are interested in a nuts and bolts explanation of a 401(k) plan, how it works, the variety of options available to the investor and what this plan can do for you - read the book.If you think you have all the answers - read the book. If you have children entering the workforce - read the book then give it to them to read.I am very thankful to Dale and Craig for sharing their knowledge with me and making it available to everyone. I highly recomment the book and have shared it with my family members. After reading the book my only comment was "Where do I sign-up?"
